Why the first round was so messed up

Last night I had the first pick. When I selected my player, he would not move into my "drafted" box and it did not progress to the next pick. When I would select him
A second time, it would tell me it wasn't my turn and boot me from the draft. So, we decided to let it auto-draft for me. That didn't work, because the draft was pausing and reseting itself every 20 seconds or so. Finally, the commish set the time to 15 seconds and it auto-picked for me. Unfortunately, he could not reset the time back to normal until the end of the round. I'm really glad we were in an xbox live party or we would never have figured it out.
